Opening of Toolangi Sculpture Trail 2016 and Yarra Valley Arts Small Sculpture Exhibition
The Opening of Toolangi Sculpture Trail 2016 and Yarra Valley Arts Small Sculpture Exhibition will start with a welcome and smoking ceremony by Taungurung people. Artists, friends, family and supporters will then gather in the newly re-opened Forest Discovery Centre.

Artist Residency commences
9 am Artists, assistants and volunteers attend a Site Induction.
Artists commence work on their site-specific sculptures and installations in the existing Toolangi Sculpture Trail using materials they have sourced sustainably from the forest.

Primary School & Youth Education program
Local primary schools and youth groups, work with Avis Gardner building totem sculptures in the forest. The groups also go on guided walks learning about the local flora and fauna with environmental scientist Bernie Mace. Occurs on 7, 8, 9, 14, 15, & 16 November.

Closing Ceremony
'The First Taungurung Women' - Narrated by Aunty Lee Healey, and accompanied by the 26 students from the Toolangi Primary School through physical performance and puppetry.
Gifting Ceremony - The Sculptures will be formally gifted to the community. The Trail will be declared Open and the audience will be invited to walk the trail, view the sculptures and meet the artists-in-residence.
Environmental Films - Screening in the Toolangi Forest Discovery Centre. Titles TBA soon!
