Making string is a tactile process. It helps us connect with the plant the fibre came from. Is it rough, is it hollow, is it strong and which direction do the hairs face. The more strands to the string, the stronger and more resilient it is. Much like an ecosystem or a community where strength lies in our numbers and diversity.

Spiders spin webs. These webs also house minute insects which clean the webs for the spiders. The web eventually becomes woven into the nests of small birds taking cover in the prickly bushes.

We are planning to make string and weave this web of life and we would love young and old to join us in sharing this interconnectedness.
